Great Harbour Cay Christmas

Great Harbour Cay Christmas

Back living on Mahi, it was time to unpack, put on the sails, full enclosure and unpack.  Slowly, we brought our Taswell sailboat back from being stripped down for hurricane season.

Oh yes, we needed to prepare for Christmas, too.  A good friend, Cynthia, brought many wonderful Christmas items for Ethan, including lights to decorate the boat, a chocolate advent calendar, and more!  I forgot the tree, so I created a temporary one using driftwood and lights for inside the boat.  Let’s just say it was a very rustic Christmas tree:

Christmas was wonderful, especially as we had a special secret Mrs. Santa who spoiled Ethan like crazy!  Here Ethan is tracking Santa on the NORAD app and opening presents on Christmas morning.

We had a lovely dinner with a large group of friends at Steven and Elsbeth beautiful oceanside home on Great Harbour Cay.  What could be a better way to celebrate Christmas than with terrific food and friends?

Next up- New Years!

  • Hi Carla,
I’m also a quilting boater. I quickly checked out your videos, and my palms started sweating! Our boat weathered Matthew in Ft. Pierce,
Fl., also causing some tense hours! We spent Feb. and March in the Abacos, and have Rough Cut back on the hard. Hopefully there won’t be storms this year!
Hope you had a wonderful sailing season,
    Cindy

    • Hi Cindy, we flew home this week for a wedding, but plan to fly back to the Bahamas and then head to the Abacos.

Had a horrible storm event in January, but that is a furtive post. 😀

Do you do FaceBook? Look for me under Carla Barrett, and we can chat more about boating and quilting!
